TBR Book Tag

TBR Book Tag

I saw this tag over at Wonderfilled Reads and decided to tag myself….cheeky I know!

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

mmm I look at the book shelf and that’s as complex as it gets 😉

Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?

Definitely print, paperbacks are my preferred way to read but I do have a Kindle Paperwhite but I don’t use it that often, mostly for ARCs.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

Sometimes I just want to choose a book dependent on my mood or what I fancy but I do also have a TBR jar for those difficult moments when I can’t decide.

A book that has been on your TBR the longest?

The Hunger Games trilogy…that’s been there for at least 3 years! I love the movies but I guess it’s the thought of committing myself to reading a series puts me off slightly…I don’t read many at all.

A book you recently added to your TBR?

The Trouble with Goats & Sheep by Joanna Cannon.

Joanna recently visited Waterstone’s in Birmingham so I went along to meet her and listen to her chat about her debut novel. I’m really looking forward to reading it.

A book that’s strictly on your TBR because of the cover?

The Monogram MurdersThe Monogram Murders by Sophie Hannah. It has beautiful gold foiling!!

I love Agatha Christie but do prefer Marple to Poirot. I bought this book when I visited Christie’s holiday home, Greenway, in Devon. I’ve only read one book by Sophie Hannah before which I wasn’t blown away by but have higher hopes for this one.

A book on your TBR that you never planned on reading…

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell…I bought this book 2 maybe 3 years ago and have never got around to reading it. I’ve been put off by its length, 500+ pages but also I understand it’s not an easy read to get your head round.

A book on your TBR that everyone has read but you…

Oh there’s probably loads, The Great Gatsby, Murder on the Orient Express, The Kite Runner, Schindler’s List to name but a few but who knows, we all have such varying tastes

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you…

Well I’m not sure that I have a book that everyone recommends but these are books that I’ve bought based on other book bloggers reviews; does that count?

A Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swan,  A Notable Woman by Lucie Jean Pratt & I let You Go by Claire Mackintosh

A book on your TBR you are dying to read…

99% of them….but if I have to drill it down to one then I would say Mary Berry Recipe for Life. I love Bake Off and love Mary Berry. She’s a fantastic role model and a shining example…a woman who’s had an amazing career, family, is very successful yet comes across as the nicest lady ever. I watched her on the BBC show Who Do You Think You Are and would love to read more about her.  I should just get on with it!

How many books are on your Goodreads TBR?

I haven’t added all my TBR books to Goodreads, it would probably be too time consuming to do that now but I have 84 print books and 25 Kindle books to read, which includes any current ARCs.  I know this is a relatively small TBR list compared to other book bloggers but what I have already feels like too many and out of control.

I’m not going to tag any other bloggers as I’m aware that we all have to use our time wisely and not everyone has the time for tags. However, if you fancy completing the tag yourself, do let me know I’d love to read your answers  or share in the comments 🙂
