My second read for #PaperbackSummer and my book club choice for this month. I only started it last night so not got very far.
I first came across this book via You Tuber Carrie Hope Fletcher’s Books & Cake vlog (see here) and I now see it all over the place but it still seems to be very popular and well received.
Opens at Nightfall
Closes at Dawn
As the sun disappears beyond the horizon, all over the tents small lights begin to flicker, as though the entirety of the circus is covered in particularly bright fireflies. When the tents are all aglow, sparkling against the night sky, the sign appears.
Le Cirque des Rêves
The Circus of Dreams.
Now the circus is open.
Now you may enter.
I recently finished reading…
This is a strange one in that it’s not an amazingly different book but it’s still incredibly engaging and captivating with a gorgeous cover.
The parts about Johnnie Ray and the concert made me reminiscent of the first concert I ever went to (New Kids on the Block 😉 ) and how that made me feel and the author expresses those teenage feelings perfectly.

Penelope longs to be grown-up and to fall in love, but various rather inconvenient things keep getting in her way. Like her mother, a stunning but petulant beauty widowed at a tragically early age, her younger brother Inigo, currently incapable of concentrating on anything that isn’t Elvis Presley, a vast but crumbling ancestral home, a severe shortage of cash, and her best friend Charlotte’s sardonic cousin Harry…

I’m taking part in my first blog tour for ages in July and as I’m on my summer holidays mid-July I want to be ready and prepared. I don’t mind a bit of ‘chick-lit‘ now and again to break up the stuff I usually read and I did enjoy Holly’s previous novel The Guestbook.
Hopeless romantic Milly Rose has had her fair share of heartbreak. Obsessed with all things Disney, she refuses to give up on finding her Prince Charming – he’s out there somewhere, isn’t he?

What she discovers takes her breath away – a beautiful real life Cinderella castle, complete with turrets, a magnificent drawbridge AND a very handsome owner…Cameron Heartstone. As Milly and Cameron begin to unearth the secrets of Clover Castle, they can’t ignore the intense chemistry building between them. But they’ve both been hurt badly before.
