Reading has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, I always had a books as a child and we always used to go to the library as kids. Books that really stick out in my memory from my childhood include Carrie’s War and The Peppermint Pig by Nina Bawden, Stig of the Dump by Clive King, Nancy Drew, Judy Blume and the Sweet Valley High series; I never really got into Enid Blyton though. My mum always used to read Danielle Steel so as I got older into my mid to late teens I started reading those and then moved onto John Grisham who was the only I author I read for years and years! Now my tastes tend to vary a lot more; mainly because of my book club and my blog.
I started my blog just over 2 years ago when a friend suggested it; I never even knew blogging and book blogging were a thing. Starting was a slow process and I did have to put in quite a bit of effort (almost to the point of obsession!) but then I got myself onto the radar, reviewed some books and I haven’t looked back since. I do try and review every book I read regardless of where that book has come from so that I have sufficient content and also try to keep up with the new releases but I do have a back log of older books to get through so my blog does see a mixture. The books that I have come from a variety of sources; copies that I’ve requested from publishers, books I’ve bought myself, gifts and library books.
Reading and reviewing is a great hobby and one that I wouldn’t be without. The social media book blogging community are a wonderful group of people spreading the word and their passion about the things they love – for free!
How did you get into blogging and what made you want to?
