Blogging from A-Z April Challenge – Q

QQ is for Quotations

Q is a difficult letter to think of something original so my post today is a short collection of my favourite quotes from books.

From To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This is my all time favourite book; the only book I’ve re-read several times and I could list a whole page of poignant and memorable quotes but will just leave you with this one…

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”

From The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

This is a book that I discovered only recently but thoroughly enjoyed and was filled with book and book shop memorable quotes; here’s 2:

“What better way to get to know someone than through her choice and treatment of books? ”

“There are too many books in the world to read in a single lifetime; you have to draw the line somewhere.”

From A Time to Kill by John Grisham

John Grisham’s first novel raises some very moral questions and makes the reader consider what would I do? This quote just highlights the racism and the way people thought of themselves.

“Blacks had an excuse for being worthless, but for whites in a white world, there were no excuses.”

Do you have a favourite book quotation to share?

I know a few people doing this challenge and Q does seem to pose problems! Great quotes.

My favorite is the first stanza of the Jabberwocky. I tend to sing it from the Disney movie without realizing it.

Are you excited about Harper Lee’s new book?
