WWW Wednesday (January 28)

I hadn’t realised that WWW Wednesday had been on a temporary holiday, I was just plodding on obliviously but now we have a new host for this weekly meme in  Sam at Taking on a World of Words. It’s still open to all to participate. Why not join in and let us know what you’re reading this week…

WWW Wednesday

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

And There Were NoneI love the Agatha Christie Miss Marple adaptations on the tv and will watch them over and over again, so it’s quite unbelievable that this is only the 2nd Christie novel that I’ve read.

The story starts with the gathering of 10 random strangers summonsed to a house on an island on Devon, and one by one they’re all bumped off until there were none (apparently, haven’t got that far yet!). This isn’t a Marple or Poirot detective novel but it’s a great read that I’ve mostly read in 2 sittings.

What did you recently finish reading?

Summer of the DeadAm still battling with my publisher requests and this had been on the shelf for a good 5 months so decided to give it a go.

It’s a murder mystery set in a small town in West Virginia in the height of summer. It was ok, it wasn’t a fast paced read and I struggled with that a little. It’s also part of a series which I hadn’t realised. Now, you don’t have to have read the others to follow this story; it can be read as a standalone, however I didn’t find myself connecting with the characters all that well which may be because I’d not read the first 2.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Holy CowAnother book on my request list from the publishers, this book intrigues me so I might give this a go. I mean who doesn’t want to read about a talking cow!

Way out of my comfort zone 🙂

Yeah, probably not one you’d have expected. But I have to say, it’s very funny. Made me laugh out loud which takes some doing!

The Julia Keller was ok, but like you say, probably best to read the others first because I didn’t really have a vested interest in the characters just from this book 😊
